ItineraryBike Tour Around the Qinghai Lake
Day 1 Arrive at Lhasa (D)
Arrival at Gonggar Airport (3500m), greeted by the local tour guide, transfer 60km (paved road, about 1 hour drive ) to the city proper, drive along the Yarlung Tsangpu River and Lhasa River, enjoy the Tibetan style villages and Nyetang Buddha ,check in hotel in Lhasa (3658m) and rest for acclimatization.
Day 2 Lhasa (B+L+D)
Today we will provide each one with one bicycle. You follow our car. Our guide and drive will take care of you. During the whole tour, when you are tired, you can put the bicycle to the car .Take a tour to Potala Palace. It was the local government location, and was divided into two parts, the white palace and red one; It was also the highest castle-style palace in the world, which is on the Marpori Hill; Visit Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market, the heart of the old Lhasa town, here you’ll enjoy fascinating combination of deep religiosity and push and shove market economics. In Tibetan Buddhism Jokhang is also regarded as the center of the Universe, it is a must sightseeing in Lhasa.
Day 3 Lhasa (B+L+D)
Ride the bicycle to visit the Sera Monastery, one of three famous monasteries in Lhasa. After that, visit the Norbulingka Park (the jewel park in Tibetan) which was the summer palace of Dalai Lamas. In the afternoon, visit the Tibet Museum.
Day 4 Lhasa/Xining (B)
After breakfast in the hotel, we will transfer you to the airport and you take the overnight soft sleeper train from Lhasa/Xining.
Day 5 arrive in Xining
After arriving Xining City, our guide will pick you up and check in the hotel and relax.
Day 6 Xining
Today we have one day tour in Xining. We will visit Kunbum Monastery, which is one of the six largest monasteries in Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. .After one hour, we will move to Dongguan Grand Mosque, one of four largest Mosques in western part of China. In the afternoon, we will go to Tibetan Medicine Cultural Museum with the world longest Tangka in it.
Day7 Xining/Qianghai Lake
Visit Sun-Moon Mountain, the natural demarcation line between Loess Plateau and Tibetan Plateau. Qinghai lake (3,200m), the largest and the most beautiful inland lake in China.
Day 8 Qianghai Lake/Hei Ma he (Bicycle)
Enjoy the sunset near the lake and watch a sunrise on the lake next morning.
Day 9 Heimahe/Birds Island/ Gancha Country (Bicycle)
Visit Bird Island; contain an area of 270 square kilometers. It is a natural habitat for more than 100,000 distinctive migrant birds within an area of less than 1 square km.
Day 10 Gangcha---Xihai Town(Bicycle)
Start from Gangcha, ride to Xihai Town after breakfast
Day 11 Xihai---Xining
Start traveling from Xiahai town in the morning, arrive Xining in the afternoon. Have supper and end the pleasant trip
